As a Marin native, Liz is dedicated to helping teens in the community discover their path in life. Combining a keen sense of insight with an ability to promote self-reflection, Liz utilizes self-assessment tools to help students find career matches to explore. She has found much synergy between her earlier career as a Human Resources executive and facilitator of management training seminars, and the beginning steps in college planning. It is her belief that finding a good match college begins with an exploration of self, rather than a search of schools.
Having completed her coursework in the UC Berkeley College Counseling Certificate program, Liz has volunteered at several local high school College and Career centers to share her expertise and strategies for writing authentic college essays and applications.
Liz is truly a student of colleges and enjoys learning about new schools and programs for students. She loves going to college fairs and conferences (especially picking up SWAG), and currently plans her travels around visiting as many campuses as possible! Liz shares her knowledge with the families of The College Planning Center as a presenter of the Campus Visit Workshops.
Liz earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees at the University of Puget Sound in Washington State, and enjoyed a stint in France in a Study Abroad program along the way. She is active in the profession of educational consulting as a current member of the Western Association of College Admissions Counselors (WACAC).
Liz was born in San Francisco at the same hospital that she gave birth to her daughter. Liz can relate to families managing busy schedules and the excitement the high school years offer, as her daughter is in the throes of her first year in high school. Add to that a puppy named KIYO who is a toy red poodle, and life is never dull! Liz’s favorite things are very simple…laughing with her daughter, yoga, pretty walks, lattes, spa days, weekend getaways, movies, watching the Warriors, and hanging out with good friends. She is excited to be a part of the team to launch The College Planning Center in Corte Madera!
