Alice Wise has been a leader in the field of public education for nineteen years, including fifteen years as a high school guidance counselor in the Santa Rosa City School District. As a counselor in public schools, Alice has significant experience at both middle school and high school levels with families of varied financial backgrounds.
Alice’s education includes a Master in Counseling and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from Sonoma State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development from Sacramento State University. In 2009, Alice achieved the counseling certification for National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Alice is one of seven school counselors in the State of California that have obtained this certification.
Alice is fluent in English and Spanish, obtaining her minor in Spanish in Heredia, Costa Rica through Sacramento State’s Study Abroad program.
She worked in Texas for two years through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps with Communities in Schools as a case manager for at-risk students. Alice is committed to helping students realize their full potential and helping them see their opportunities at the college level.
Alice is a current member of WACAC (Western Association of College Admissions Counseling) and Rocklin Chamber of Commerce. Frequent college visitations and conference attendance are also a regular part of staying current in the ever-changing field of college admissions.
